Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said a total of 72,356 dengue cases were reported from January to July this year, an 89.5% increase from the same period last year.<br />Dr Dzulkefly said dengue death toll had risen to 108 from 61 fatalities last year, where a surge in dengue cases started in May this year as compared to the corresponding period in 2018.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the Health Minister said the theme "End Dengue - Starts with Me" had been chosen for the Communication For Behavioural Impact (Combi) convention in conjunction with the national-level Asean Dengue Day that he launched Sunday.<br /><br />Dr Dzulkefly said the theme was appropriate to show that dengue control is every individual and every community’s responsibility.<br /><br />Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019/07/28/dengue-cases-up-by-89pt5pc-from-january-to-july-2019-says-health-minister/
